Fulton County Animal Shelter is a local Atlanta animal shelter that offers many resources to new pet owners. There are 24 screens, 12 per device. I will show that most important features from these screens, but if you will to see them in their entirety please refer to the prototype.
The client's goal is to drive up adoption rates and increase volunteers in the shelter and at events by 30%.
I was looking to adopt a cat and found myself overwhelmingly frustrated with the local shelter websites. Through user interviews, I saw how potential volunteers and new pet owners miss crucial information from the original site or not even bother to dig for it.
From the homepage, users can now quickly select the pet they are searching for, reducing the amount of clicks therefore increasing their immediate satisfaction with the site.
To reduce that time the user's spend searching across the site, I reorganized the main and utility navigation, as well as the homepages, to provide the site's most frequented links to the user. This eliminates the ambiguity and confusion previously experienced.
The focus of this renovation is to bring legibility and intuition to adoption websites, which includes a fluid responsive state. My goal is to have the screens seamlessly morph into one another when hitting their respective breakpoints.
So, what did I fix?
